We’re not usually ones for mythical stories and fantastical beasts, but when you’re taking a fire-breathing monster up a frozen mountain it’s hard not to make comparisons. In this case the monster is the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6X6 and the frozen mountain is Matroosberg. You know you want to drive this monster.

Here’s what’s included:
Meet at Just Like Papa before dawn, jump in the 6x6 and hit the road.

Go through the Huguenot Tunnel just as the sun starts pouring in from the east.

Fuel up in Ceres and grab coffee and breakfast at Tremor.

Quick pit stop at Erfdeel in the Matroosberg Nature Reserve to sign in, deflate tires, and do final prep.

Climb the mighty Matroosberg in the 6x6 (this is the “easy” part, but you will feel the altitude change going up the second highest peak in the Western Cape).

Primus coffee stop on the plateau before taking the road less travelled.

Put on your brown pants, hop into Papa’s Black Wolf, and prepare for the circle route, a hardcore 4x4 trail that’s not for the faint of heart.

Breathe in the crisp, thin air at 2249m above sea level.

Return to the 6x6 for a trailside lunch.

With your belly full and your adventure craving satisfied, sit back and enjoy the drive home.

Debrief and beers coffees at Just Like Papa.

We are born adventurers and as much as we want to, we can't always share everything we do with you, until now. This is one of a handful of our favourite experiences that we’ve turned into exclusive packages you can purchase. The concept is twofold, 1) you get an unforgettable experience with us, 2) you'll be directly supporting our staff - all revenue from these sales will go into a payroll fund.
